Brunel’s famous Great Britain shown on the morning of its launch in Bristol. This was painted following a trip to see the ship which included sketching this view from life, collecting information from the guides about the dock’s appearance, and walking the streets in the background to see the old buildings and ruins and where modern structures have taken over.
