This painting is of a vessel on the River Thames heading towards Cannon Street Railway Bridge with St. Paul’s Cathedral in the distance. It was painted from the south side of London Bridge. I had seen a 19th Century painting by John Crowther from a similar view and wanted to paint a modern day version with a modern day boat.
