The painting captures the busyness of Lymington Harbour from the foredeck of the Wightlink ferry. Taking in the flow of Lymington Channel with all the moored boats lining the channel and channel markers bringing in pops of colour and the Isle of Wight in the distance.I created this piece, by blending screen printing and painting methods. Each piece starts with a line drawing, I often sketched on location for energy and proportions. Then I paints directly onto the mesh of the silk screen layered onto the canvas, using a technique called mono screen printing. Finally, I add depth by screen printing the sky, contrasting its calmness with the dynamic foreground and incorporating my line drawing for detail. Merging painting and screen printing methods, allows me to create mini-series for each artwork. Every piece in the series is hand painted and features a distinct colour palettes, atmospheres, and brushstrokes, resulting in unique, handmade creations, while sharing the same line drawing. This piece is number 3 of 5 in the series.Framed with a textured solid wood white tray frame.
