I’ve observed many kingfishers, sometimes merely as a fleeting, blue flash above the water’s surface, other times they will sit boldly in full view. For this painting I wanted to depict a pose somewhere in between, a still bird, not wanting to be seen, merging with the moving light, and reeds.Presented in a contemporary, wooden frame, finished in a warm white.
