Original Print, 4 block linocut hand printed on St Cuthbert Mills Somerset Paper 300g/m2. Printed using a restored Albion Press made in Southwark, 1859.A few lapwings rise up in to the air calling and circle over water and fields. More lapwings join them. Then other birds watching them fly up to join them. You can hear their wings fly past. Other species join them. They fly together seamlessly.’Staying with Lapwings is from many, many trips to the coast. Both in North Norfolk and in Kent. I sketch bits of flying birds at different times. Here the sketches are grouped together to make the composition. The one Oystercatcher flying with them, represents us the viewer.
