A friend and former colleague, Kehinde works as an architect at Foster & Partners. He sat for a couple of hours while we chatted and I produced pencil and oil studies and took photo references. An eloquent, well-read speaker and conversationalist, I wanted to capture Kehindes face as if mid-sentence – expressing a thought. A light-heartedness is also expressed through the Woody doll in the background, a souvenir from one of Kehindes Halloween costumes in which he dressed up as Sid, the villain in Toy Story 1. Notice Woody is missing his legs!
