Subjectively, I have painted an image of two hands intertwining with one beginning to let go. Leaving some of the form and background unfinished, I play with the tension between absence and presence, and invite the viewer to use their eye to complete the hand: with what is seen and what is implied. My practice investigates confessions and extensions of inner states, which is repeatedly explored through painting the human figure, specifically hands. Hands act a silent communicator, expressing connection and emotions through touch and movement. In this painting, I attempt to capture the hidden dialogues between what we perceive through our eyes and what we physically insinuate with our hands gestures.
