Not Instow this time! This is the result of a visit, on a windy grey day to Bucks Mills North Devon. Reaching this beach is quite theatrical, with its steep path down to the shore line. I was overwhelmed with the cold greyness of the place. There are steep grey cliffs and the beach is made of piles of rounded grey stones, rocks and pebbles. A difficult cold place. With the grey weather this effect was multiplied. I painted whilst there, but back in the studio I turned the composition around and created a picture of rocks. Grey Rocks. I chose a narrow canvas as I felt this helped convey the narrow nature of the beach
