This painting was developed from a plein air 10″ x !2″ made while on an ROI visit to Fawley Hall. I did consider whether to work up the original but felt that i could say even more about the atmosphere on a larger scale. To me it was like a film set showing calmer and more peaceful times long gone. My alternative title was “Just the ticking of the clock”
