Nancy 2 – inspired by a friend’s cat sitting in their eclectic, cosy home where the shapes, patterns and colours seemed a good challenge. This was painted wet in wet over a sketched out underpainting in raw umber. Keeping it loose in the beginning enabled me to adjust shapes and colour to balance the composition. It being a very full image kept me challenged in knowing what details could be left out, or rather just suggested.
