Inspired by Hokusais The Great Wave off Kanagawa, the painting explores two waves of bladderwrack interacting in passing. Painted from real life observation of seaweed foraged from Calgary beach on the Isle of Mull. Mounted in an upcycled, vintage frame from the island to encourage sustainable practice and evoke a sense of history and place.
