My concern within this particular painting was to explore mark making techniques and to push the properties of oil paint. Through a process of manipulating the paint and the addition and subtraction I have endeavoured to explore the medium and add to, not only the qualities of the surface, but also to the narrative within the piece. Gabriel’s Journey is a painting focusing on reflection and potential.
