Made from up-cycled copper and steel wire, hand-stripped from power cable, telephone wire and iron binding wire. I was inspired by the swallows flying over my house. I wanted to juxtapose their grace and effortless flight with the turbulence and movement of air as they cut through the sky. All the swallows stand off the wall to give a sense of depth and form, with the middle swallow entirely offset from the wall to project a full silhouette. The sculpture can be positioned either horizontally (photo 1 & 2) or downwards (photo 3) for more drama.
