In this still life painting, I sought to evoke the essence of my childhood bedroom by incorporating some of my favourite nostalgic items. Each object was carefully selected to reflect cherished memories while balancing vibrant colours and diverse textures for an engaging composition. Featured are a Corgi Juniors Kojak Car, Topps Star Wars bubblegum cards, a vintage Pepsi can, Beano and Dandy comics dating from my birthday, and an original Texan Chew wrapper, among others. With ‘EAT’ being the theme of this years exhibition I chose to include some of my favourite treats that are now discontinued and unavailable to buy. After two weeks of meticulous observation and study from life, I’m delighted that the completed painting still resonates with the same excitement and emotions, transporting me back to those treasured memories of my childhood.
